This weekend is the Gulf Coast Coupes winter
meet on Longboat Key in Sarasota.
Everyone is meeting at the Hilton Inn on
Longboat between 9 and 10 a.m. on Saturday,
Feb. 3.
We'll be caravanning to the north end of
Anna Maria Island for scenic photos then
back down to Longboat Key to the MarVista
Restaurant, the clubhouse of the Gulf Coast
Coupes, for an afternoon of beverages,
burgers, beach and Benz.
All are invited to attend.

Everything you wanted to know about your
Mercedes-Benz and were afraid to ask. Mercedes-Benz are
becoming more sophisticated with electronics that are
over-whelming to master. The electronics that are
engineered into your car for ease of driving!!
Frustrated by not finding the answer in the Owners
Manual? How to change the time in the spring and fall?
Why do I need a trickle charger on my SL-500 when it is
not driven for a short period time? What is a trickle
charger? Have not mastered the navigation system in your
new Mercedes, while your significant other is providing
advice on its operation as you are driving? Wishing you
had listened a little closer to the instructions when
you took delivery? Questions will be answered on Hands
Free Communications, Parktronic, Flexible Service System
(FSS), Keyless Go, and any other items that need
clarification.
Considering a new model? What options are available?
Need an explanation of the options, then this is the
occasion to ask the experts about the new models.
These are the tip of the iceberg questions, about our
upcoming event hosted by Mercedes-Benz of Bellevue,
Barrier Motors. They will answer these and other
questions for our late 90s to current model
Mercedes-Benz. Start compiling your questions list or
send me a list of issues. They will be consolidated and
provided to Barrier before the event to ensure the
technical person is there to address your question.
The event is a modified version of Barrier Motors,
"New Mercedes Ownership Orientation" for the Seattle
Section members to cover late 90s models thru the
current Mercedes models that many of our members drive.
Gregg Prokop, MBCA member and Sales & Leasing Manager
at Mercedes-Benz of Bellevue is hosting the Seattle
Section for this premier event. Gregg and Barrier Motors
have been solid supporters of the section’s activities
over the past years.

In Canberra, Wheels 2007 will be on
Sunday 11 March 2007. Veteran, vintage, classic,
modern, motorcycles, hot rods, they'll all be
there. Lagonda, Bentley, Rolls Royce,
Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, plenty of Fords and
Holdens. Also fire engines, homes on wheels and
sentimental favorites like the "FX" Holden can be
seen. Every year something new, like the barn-find
curved dash Oldsmobile that turned up a couple of
years ago and the bunch of crazy English folk
driving pre-war Rolls-Royces around Australia a year
or two befor that. Sponsored by Shannons Insurance
and proceeds of donations to charity. Free entry.

Having a GTG at Rythym's of the Night in Manville NJ,
this Saturday put on by Benzworld.org. Maybe you guys
might want to attend. We are also planning a car show in
July at the same place. This GTG is to discuss how we
are going to proceed with the car show. More details

NJ 08835. First meeting is Sat, April 14th at 4pm. For
our younger members, they don't start carding until 6pm

Although Mercedes cruise at far less speeds than the
Blue Angels that will be flying overhead during Air n
Sea Show weekend. Fly out to the parking lot of the
Tower Shops and show your Mercedes along with other MB
owners and club members. MBCA South Florida will be
hosting it's monthly Mercedes-Benz only GTG(get
together) at the weekly Tower Shops Cruise-In.
Hundreds of cars of all kinds on display on any given
Friday. You can see classic American cars (some going
back to the 1920's), sports cars of all kinds,
especially Corvettes, muscle cars, hot rods, and others.
Last month a Duesenberg was one of the many
surprises amongst the crowd of fine automobiles on
display. There are also car-related memorabilia and
other things of interest to see. Show everyone your
skill with the hula hoop and listen to the DJ play some
of your favorties. Visit some interesting vendors,
including some of our Festival sponsors.
On FRIDAY May 4th, MBCA, South Florida will
reserve a section just for you.
FREE PARKING
There will be no cost to you (normally $2 to park, $5 if
For Sale). We hope to have a lot of MBCA members and
non-members (and their Mercedes) together on the first
Friday of the month. Check our club's the new " STAR"
magazine, a valuable resource at our blue "hospitality
hangar" .
Make your approach by following the blue and white
Mercedes Parking signs to your landing area.
Taxi to the RESERVED "BENZ ONLY" PARKING Section
.....just for you!!!! . A great place to display/sell
your car. Lots of places to eat during and after the
display.
Mark your calendar: Friday, May 4th AFTER 6 PM.
Cars usually start circling to land between 6 and 7pm
and it's all over between 9 and 10pm. It's great chance
to meet other Benz pilots like yourself, exchange
information, check out some great cars, and learn about
MBCA and the benefits of membership.

Hi Terry, thanks for your offering to
post the HCG photos.. We had 9 Coupe owners attend. One
owner, Willard Treadway had a low battery in his Coupe
so he arrived in his stunning 6.9 silver over blue
sedan.
At one time we had 8 coupes in attendance. A couple
of cars left early for other commitments.
The photos I am sending are at Memorial Park and
others may be from the the Niftee50ees car show that Rob
Dent may send.

Last year we had 24 cars and people show up and show
off each others cars, and learn some new things, and
have some awesome pulled pork and BBQ courtesy of Surf
'n Turf.
I will give the exact location, date & time to whom
ever is attending personally for privacy reasons. I
think the best time to arrive would be 11:00 am or
12:00pm it will go on for most of the day. More details
